Women's Golf Finishes 15th At Darius Rucker Invitational

HILTON HEAD, S.C. -- The No. 29 Auburn women's golf team finished the Darius Rucker Intercollegiate in 15th with an 86-over 938. Diana Fernandez led the Tigers for the tournament with an 18-over 231.
Hosted by South Carolina, the Darius Rucker Intercollegiate was a 54-hole tournament played at the Long Cove Club in Hilton Head, S.C. The par 71 course played at 6,211 yards.
Junior Fernandez had her best round of the tournament with a 4-over 75 in the final round to finish tied for 45th at 18-over 231. Junior Marta Sanz tied for 51st with a 20-over 233 after carding a 9-over 80 in the final round, and freshman Jamie Yun carded a 25-over 236 with a 5-over 76 in the final round to tie for 59th.
Senior Carlie Yadloczky tied for 64th after carding a 5-over 76 in the final round, finishing at 25-over 238. Sophomore Nicole Quinn carded a 26- over 97 in the final round to finish 81st with a 59-over 272.
Alabama finished first in the tournament with a 24-over 876, and LSU and Vanderbilt tied for second with 28-over 880s. Arizona State placed fourth with a 34-over 886, and Arkansas finished with 37-over 889 to place fifth.
Individually, Arizona State's Noemi Jiminez finished first with a 4-under 209, and LSU's Madelene Sagstrom carded an even par 213 to finish second. Alabama's Stephanie Meadow placed third with a 1-over 214, and Arizona State's Dani Ordonez finished fourth with a 2-over 215. North Carolina's Casey Grice and Vanderbilt's Kendall Martindale carded 3-over 216s to tie for fifth.
The Tigers return to the course on March 29 at the Bryan National Collegiate in Browns Summitt, N.C. The tournament, hosted by Wake Forest, is at the Bryan Park Champions Golf Course, and is the final regular-season tournament for the Tigers.
