"We have had a big break since our last meet," said Auburn head coach Greg Williams, of the Tigers who face Ohio State in their previous meet on Oct. 7. "We weren't riding hard, but now we are in full swing."
Auburn is 1-6 overall against Georgia, 1-5 in western and 2-3 in hunt seat. The only overall win came on Nov. 23, 2002, during Auburn's inaugural season.
"We are ready to face Georgia," said Williams. "We opened the season with the defending national champions (South Carolina) and then faced the IHSA western national champions (Ohio State). We've had tough road meets and there
is no reason to stop now."
Prior to the start of the meet, the Auburn equestrian team will be honored with the unveiling of the 2006 Varsity Equestrian National Championship banner.
The meet is Kid's Day and the first 250 fans will receive 2006 National Champion boot huggers. There will also be free horse rides during the meet along with a coloring contest for area grade schoolers.
