No. 3 Auburn Equestrian Set to Host No. 1 Georgia Friday

AUBURN, Ala. -

The No. 3 Auburn equestrian team returns to action Friday as it hosts No. 1 Georgia in the Tigers’ final meet for the fall portion of the season. The meet is scheduled to begin at 3 p.m. CT at the Auburn University Horse Center.

Auburn enters at 2-1 (1-1 SEC) on the year, while Georgia also sits at 2-1 (1-1 SEC) coming off a loss to No. 2 South Carolina last Friday.

Riding for Auburn in equitation over fences will be Elizabeth Benson, Claire Connaghan, Quincy Hayes, Christina Lin and Jennifer Waxman. Megan Bifano will ride exhibition and Jennifer Delman will be the alternate.

In equitation on the flat, the Tigers will feature Elizabeth Benson, Claire Connaghan, Jennifer Delman, Christina Lin and Lindsay Portela. Quincy Hayes will ride exhibition, Jennifer Waxman will be the alternate, and Bailey Kleis will ride demonstration.

In the Western arena, competing for Auburn in horsemanship will be Griffin Knight, Katsy Leeman, Hannah Loseke, Indy Roper and Stephanie Rucci. Lucy Igoe will ride exhibition, Chelsea Zillner will be the alternate, and Allie Dusha and Jessica Remy will ride demonstration.


 

 

For Western reining, Auburn will ride Cheyenne Cracraft, Katsy Leeman, Hailey Munger, Indy Roper and Stephanie Rucci. Morgan Burns will be the alternate.

Friday’s meet is All Auburn, All Orange and fans are encouraged to wear orange to support the Tigers. The first 300 fans will receive an orange equestrian bandana.

All Ignited students will receive double scan points and foursquare points, and non-students will receive double foursquare points.

Pony rides, build a horse and other crafts will be available for kids throughout the meet. There will be a horse hopper race, sack races and a t-shirt toss during intermission.
