AUBURN, Ala. - After one month of competition in the 2013-14 equestrian season, Auburn retains their No. 2 ranking from the preseason. The Tigers improved to 2-0 with wins against UT-Martin and Fresno State that gave them 15 team points in back-to-back meets for the first time in school history.
Georgia, which defeated South Carolina in a tie-breaker in the first Southeastern Conference competition of the season, remains in the nation's No. 1 spot at 2-0. South Carolina, which lost on a tie-breaker to top-ranked Georgia, is 4-1 on the season and ranked No. 3.
Baylor improved to 4-1 on the year with a 15-5 win against Kansas State and is No. 4 in the latest rankings. TCU boasts a 2-0 record, having defeated Kansas State at home last weekend, and is ranked No. 5.
Kansas State dropped back-to-back competitions to nationally ranked Baylor and TCU on the road this past weekend and falls to No. 6 in the rankings.
Oklahoma State and New Mexico State, neither of which has competed since Sept. 28, are No. 7 and No. 8, respectively.
Texas A&M, which picked up its first win of the season vs. SMU, is 1-1 on the year and ranked No. 9. SMU, which fell to the Aggies in its only competition since the last rankings, and is No. 10.
NCEA rankings will be released twice per month.
The 2014 NCEA Championships take place April 17-19 in Waco, Texas, marking the first year one championship will be contested, rather than separate championships by disciplines.
