Equestrian Team Prepares for First Road Trip

The undefeated Auburn equestrian team travels on the road for the first time this season as it will face South Carolina on Friday at 1 p.m. in Blythewood, S.C., in a match-up of unbeaten teams. "We are looking forward to getting on the road as a team," said head coach Greg Williams. "In this sport, picking up a road win from any tough team is quite an accomplishment. I know South Carolina will be prepped and ready, but so will a very tough group of Auburn riders. I can't wait to start." Auburn (2-0) defeated Kansas State and South Dakota State this past weekend, while South Carolina (2-0) downed SMU and South Dakota State. In horsemanship, Bailey Dymond, Kristin Hansen, Indy Roper, Stephanie Rucci and Chelsea Zillner will compete for Auburn, with Mary Casey as the alternate. Anna Becker, Quincy Hayes, Ali Loprete, Maggie McAlary and Lindsay Portela will ride for the Tigers in equitation on the flat, with Piper Donnelly as the alternate.
In reining, Jillian Fuller, Kristin Hansen, Paige Monfore, Indy Roper and Cassandra Stambuk will take the reins for Auburn, with Kelsey George as the alternate. And in equitation over fences, Dottie Grubb, Maggie McAlary, Anna Schierholz, Grace Socha and Jennifer Waxman will ride the for the Tigers, with Ali Loprete as the alternate.
