Auburn Equestrian Rides into the Fall Season against Texas Christian and Southern Methodist

AUBURN - The Auburn equestrian team opens their fall season Friday in a doubleheader against Texas Christian at 10 a.m. CT and Southern Methodist at 3 p.m. CT at the Auburn Equestrian Center. Admission is free. "We're just excited to get started," said Auburn head coach Greg Williams. "TCU comes in here having lost to Texas A&M in the championship round of Western last season. They could arguably be one of the top two teams on the Western side coming in this season. SMU is coming in with a new head coach and some new riders, so there is an unknown there." Riding for the Tigers against Texas Christian in Hunt Seat Equitation on
the Flat are Chelsea Anheuser, Katie Breedlove, Maggie McAlary, Lindsay
Portela and Anna Schierholz with Grace Wilkins on demonstration and
Elise Fraza as the alternate. Riding in Hunt Seat Equitation over Fences
are Elise Fraza, Dottie Grubb, Maggie McAlary, Anna Schierholz and Grace
Socha with Liza Luker on demonstration and Chelsea Anheuser as the
alternate. Riding in Western Horsemanship are Bailey Dymond, Kristin
Hansen, Jessica Jones, Kylie Miller and Indy Roper with Paige Monfore on
exhibition, Shannon Hinton on demonstration and Amy Bohan as the
alternate. Riding in Western Reining are Jillian Fuller, Kristin Hansen,
Lyndsey Jordan, Paige Monfore and Kim Pope with Jessica Jones as the
alternate.
Riding for the Tigers against Southern Methodist in Hunt Seat Equitation on the Flat are Chelsea Anheuser, Rachel Cooper, Elise Fraza, Dottie Grubb, Lindsay Portela and Grace Socha with Bailey Kleis on demonstration and Katie Breedlove as the alternate. Riding in Hunt Seat Equitation over Fences are Chelsea Anheuser, Dottie Grubb, Mallory Kolpin, Maggie McAlary, Anna Schierholz and Grace Socha with Shelley Kensler on demonstration and Elise Fraza as the alternate. "Our girls are building a commitment to hard work right now," said Williams. "We really feel committed to once again being one of the top teams standing. It's hard to stay at the top, but they're committed to do it." |
