Aug. 14, 2009
AUBURN - Lindsay Neubarth has been promoted to Auburn equestrian associate head coach after spending five years as an assistant for the Tigers, head coach Greg Williams announced Friday. Neubarth enters her sixth season coaching at Auburn and helped lead the Tigers to their first overall National Championship in 2006 and the Hunt Seat National Championship in 2008. "Promoting Lindsay is easy," said Williams. "It is something we were just waiting on for the right time. She was a great Auburn rider, and she has been a great Auburn coach. It is just fitting because of the impact Lindsay has had on this program." Neubarth was a student-athlete on the equestrian team from 1999-2003 where she dominated the hunt seat arena and was one of the team*s top competitors. As a member of the club team, she was chosen to assist in coaching in the 2000 season. In her senior year, she was the fourth ranked hunt seat rider in the country and was the high point seat rider for the Southeast Region en route to being named the 2003 Region High Point Rider of the Year. "I am humbled and honored to be promoted like this by our administration and Greg," said Neubarth. "It is a dream not only to continue working at Auburn but to move up in this position. We have had some success in the past, and I look forward to helping the Auburn equestrian program in the future." Neubarth was an SEC Academic All-American and Student Athlete Advisory Council representative for two years.
