WACO, Texas - Auburn rising senior Lucy Igoe was named as a first alternate for the 2014 American Quarter Horse Association Collegiate Horsemanship Challenge, set for November 19-20 as part of the AQHA World Championship Show to be held in Oklahoma City, Okla., the National Collegiate Equestrian Association selection committee announced Thursday.
Last season, Igoe compiled a 6-8-1 record while garnering an MVP honor in Auburn's 11-8 victory over Delaware State. Igoe provided a vital win for Auburn in horsemanship in its upset victory over No. 1 Baylor in November.
The preliminaries for the Collegiate Horsemanship Challenge will take place on Wednesday, Nov. 19 beginning at 11 a.m. CT, while the finals are set for 5:30 p.m. CT on Thursday, Nov. 20.
