AUBURN - The defending Equestrian National Champion Auburn Tigers released their 2011-12 schedule featuring six home meets, including three home meets in October, head coach Greg Williams announced on Monday.

Auburn will open the eason at UT Martin on Sept. 25 and will then return for its home opener against TCU on Oct. 1 followed by home meets against South Carolina on Oct. 8 and Kansas State on Oct. 21.

The Tigers will travel to Brookings, S.D., to face South Dakota State and Delaware State on Nov. 4-5. Auburn closes out its fall schedule at conference rival Georgia on Nov. 11.

To open the spring season, Auburn will play host to Oklahoma State on Jan. 28 and Georgia on Feb. 18 before traveling to Blythewood, S.C., for a meet against South Carolina on Feb. 25. The last regular season matchup will take place March 9-10 when the Tigers travel to Las Cruces, N.M., to take on New Mexico State and Fresno State.

"What I like about this year's schedule is that we travel twice to places we have never competed," said Auburn head coach Greg Williams. "I'm anxious to get this year's team together. It should be a great season."

The team then begins postseason competition in Athens, Ga., to compete in the Southern Equestrian Championships on March 30 and 31, followed by the Varsity Equestrian National Championship in Waco, Texas, on April 19-21.
