AUBURN, Ala. -

The Auburn equestrian team has signed Demi Stiegler to its 2013-14 signing class, head coach Greg Williams announced Tuesday. Stiegler is from Irvine, Calif., and will be transferring to Auburn in the fall of 2013 from Texas Christian University.

“I am really excited that Demi will be joining the Auburn team and family this coming year,” Williams said. “Demi is a great rider and has already proven herself at the collegiate level. I think she will be a really good fit for us, and I think she has already bought into the Auburn team.”

Stiegler has had a successful collegiate and junior career. She was named a 2012-13 NCEA First Team All-American in Equitation on the Flat and was the Big 12 Equitation on the Flat Rider of the Year. Stiegler was also named the 2012-13 Big 12 Championship Equitation on the Flat Most Outstanding Player. Stiegler rode to 18-9-3 in equitation over fences and equitation on the flat last season.

Prior to starting her collegiate career, Stiegler was successful in the junior ranks training under Robyn Stiegler, Karen Healey, Archie Cox and Don Stewart. In 2011, she won the USEF Talent Search West Coast Medal Final and finished second at the ASPCA Maclay Final. Stiegler was also champion at the West Coast Equestrian Jr/Am Medal Finals and CPHA Jr. Medal Finals.

Stiegler was named the USEF/Zone 10 USHJA Rider of the Year and won the USEF Sportsmanship Award. She qualified for the USEF Medal Final in 2010 and 2011 and finished 12th at the 2012 ASPCA Maclay Final.
