AUBURN, Ala. - Auburn equestrian riders Quincy Hayes and Demi Stiegler swept the monthly hunt seat honors handed out by the National Collegiate Equestrian Association as they were named Riders of the Month for March in Equitation over Fences and Equitation on the Flat, respectively.
Hayes was named the March Equitation over Fences Rider of the Month. She went 4-0 in the month of March with one MVP honor, earned at the SEC Championship. She averaged a score of 82.5 throughout the month of March. She earned scores of 87 and 89 in the consolation round of the SEC Championship to garner MVP accolades.
Stiegler was named the March Equitation on The Flat Rider of the Month. She went 4-0 in the month of March with one MVP honor. She won both of her match-ups at the SEC Championship, winning by an average margin of 37.5 points. Her MVP honor came after scoring a 90 against New Mexico State, her second score of 90 or better this season. She was the only Auburn rider to win her flat point against No. 1 South Carolina.
The other monthly winners were Kansas State's Kelly Boviard in horsemanship and Oklahoma State's Justine Peters in reining.
