AUBURN, Ala. - The Auburn equestrian team landed 12 members of the squad on the NCEA All-Academic team, including five on the first team, the National Collegiate Equestrian Association announced on Tuesday. The annual honor roll was also named with 18 Auburn student-athletes earning the honor.
Seniors Rachel Lin, Jennifer Waxman and Stephanie Rucci, along with juniors Jennifer Delman and Danielle were named to the All-Academic first team. Junior Julianna Cook and sophomores Griffin Knight and Elizabeth Benson were second teamers.
To qualify for the Academic first team, a rider must have competed in 70 percent of her team’s meets and must have earned a cumulative GPA of 3.5. To qualify for the Academic second team, a rider must have competed in 60 percent of her team’s meets, while maintaining a cumulative GPA of 3.25. To earn honorable mention Academic honors, a rider must have participated in 50 percent of her team’s meets and must have maintained a cumulative GPA of 3.0.
The NCEA Academic Honor Roll recognizes the top academic student-athletes who have earned a cumulative GPA of 3.25.
