Auburn Equestrian Rides at Georgia on Saturday

AUBURN, Ala. - The No. 4 Auburn equestrian team travels for the first time this spring to Bishop, Ga., Saturday to face No. 2 and conference rival Georgia at 1 p.m. Central. "Georgia is always a good and well-coached team," said Auburn head coach Greg Williams. "They are very tough to play at home. This is going to be the debut of their new facility, and our goal is to be the first one to beat them at home. Our girls are riding very well. We have only had one trip up this year, and we have all of that corrected." The Tigers are 4-1 on the season having defeated Georgia 12-5 on Oct. 18, while Georgia is 8-3 on the season having last lost to South Carolina 12-8 on Feb. 21. The Bulldogs are the defending overall national champions, while the Tigers are the defending Hunt Seat champions. Riding for the Tigers in Hunt Seat Equitation on the Flat are Chelsea Anheuser, Katie Breedlove, Ali Loprete, Maggie McAlary and Rebecca Rifkin with Mallory Kolpin on exhibition and Jenny Reinhart as the alternate. Riding in Hunt Seat Equitation over Fences are Dottie Grubb, Ali Loprete, Jenny Reinhart, Anna Schierholz and Grace Socha with Elise Fraza on exhibition and Jessica Braswell as the alternate. Riding for the Tigers in Western Horsemanship are Mary Casey, Shannon Hinton, Courtney Kobak, Jessica Jones and Sarah Whitaker with Bailey Dymond on exhibition and Kylie Miller as the alternate. Riding in Western Reining are Ashton Fairey, Kelsey George, Lyndsey Jordan, Paige Monfore and Kim Pope with Jessica Jones on exhibition and Mary-Elsye Winchester as the alternate.
