AUBURN, Ala. -

The second-ranked Auburn equestrian team will travel to Bishop, Ga., to take on the top-ranked Georgia Bulldogs and Delaware State Saturday beginning at 9 a.m. CT.

"I think that the first meet on Saturday is a much anticipated meeting," Auburn head coach Greg Williams said. "Playing the top-ranked team at their place may be a tough order, but our team and coaches are really eager to get on this one. This will be a battle of two great teams.

"Then the afternoon holds a non-conference meet for us in this doubleheader. The great thing competing against Delaware State is we will be on neutral horses."

Auburn has won five-straight meets going into this weekend's competition and previously defeated the Bulldogs, 13-7, at home on Nov. 9.

Saturday's two competitions are the first of five road meets for the Tigers before they return home to host the inaugural SEC Equestrian Championship, March 29-30, at the Auburn University Horse Center.

Auburn will take on Texas A&M, Baylor and TCU next weekend in a series of three meets in the Lonestar State. Texas A&M and Baylor sit tied for sixth and TCU is ranked eighth in the latest NCEA Coaches Poll.

Riding for Auburn against Georgia on the flat will be Elizabeth Benson, Jennifer Delman, Hasbrouck Donovan, Christina Lin and Lindsay Portela. Claire Connaghan will ride exhibition, and Anna Becker will be the alternate.
