The Auburn equestrian team heads to Georgia to take on the undefeated Bulldogs on Saturday, Feb. 17 at the Animal Science Arena at 2 pm eastern.
This is the second meeting between these two SEC rivals this season, the last coming on Nov. 10 when Auburn fell 12-7 at home.
"We rode really badly that weekend," said Auburn head coach Greg Williams. "That is not going to happen this weekend. The girls are going to turn it out hard."
Competing for the Tigers on hunter seat will be senior Natalie Burton, sophomores Jessica Braswell, Lauren Hulen and Jenny Reinhart and freshmen Chelsea Anheuser, Kaite Breedlove and Rebecca Rifkin. Riding in exhibition for the Tigers on the flat will be freshman Courtney Schafer and over fences will be junior Coburn Park.
Taking on the western end will be seniors Julie Gibbes and Whitney Kimble, junior Kimberly Tidwell, sophomores Ashley Griffith and Ashley Milton and freshmen Jessica Jones and Lyndsey Jordan. In exhibition for Auburn in horsemanship will be senior Ashley Dickerson and freshman Kim Pope in reining.
"We have a really strong lineup," said Williams. "Our top western and hunt seat riders are going to double up for us this weekend.
"Winning on the road is hard. Georgia has never been beaten at home. We have no fears of that this weekend. The scores are going to be high. It comes down to us being mentally prepared, and we are."
The Tigers return home next weekend to host South Carolina on Feb. 24 at 10 am and UT-Martin on Feb. 25 at 1 pm.
