No. 1 Auburn Equestrian Competes at No. 4 South Carolina on Saturday

AUBURN - The No. 1 ranked Auburn equestrian team will face No. 4 South Carolina Saturday at noon Central in Blythewood, S.C. "South Carolina is one of the powerhouses every year," said Auburn head coach Greg Williams. "We won at their place last year and after them handing us a painful loss this year, we are looking to repeat last year's road win. We are riding very well in both arenas so we should be a formidable opponent to get past." Auburn is 6-2 on the season while South Carolina is 4-3. The Tigers have wins over Texas Christian, Southern Methodist, Tennessee-Martin, Texas A&M, Sacred Heart and Delaware State. Riding for the Tigers in Hunt Seat Equitation on the Flat are Chelsea Anheuser, Katie Breedlove, Ali Loprete, Maggie McAlary and Lindsay Portela with Dottie Grubb as the alternate. Riding in Hunt Seat Equitation over Fences are Anna Becker, Dottie Grubb, Maggie McAlary, Grace Socha and Anna Schierholz and with Ali Loprete as the alternate. Riding for the Tigers in Western Horsemanship are Amy Bohan, Bailey Dymond, Kristin Hansen, Jessica Jones, and Indy Roper with Mary Casey as the alternate. Riding in Western Reining are Jillian Fuller, Jessica Jones, Lyndsey Jordan, Paige Monfore and Kim Pope with Shannon Hinton as the alternate.
Auburn's meet against Oklahoma State on Jan. 31 was postponed with no makeup date yet announced. |
