Auburn Equestrian Ranked No. 2 In First Poll of 2011

The Auburn equestrian team is ranked No. 2 nationally, remaining behind Texas A&M in the Varsity Equestrian Coaches Poll released Feb. 1. The Tigers also closed out the 2010 fall season in the No. 2 position after falling to No. 1 Texas A&M 11-8, but defeating No. 3 Georgia 13-6. Auburn recently defeated UT-Martin 12-6 for its first win of the spring season.

Texas A&M opened with a 15-5 win against No. 6 South Carolina. Georgia will open its spring season with an SEC match up against South Carolina Saturday, Feb. 5 in Blythewood, S.C.

The next poll will be released Feb. 15, three days after the Tigers travel to Bishop, Ga., to take on their rival Bulldogs.
