Auburn is currently on a six-game winning streak which is the best
since the nine consecutive wins from Nov. 22-Dec. 30 in 2004. The
Tigers defeated Ohio on Wednesday evening, 73-54, led by sophomore's
DeWanna Bonner and KeKe Carrier who posted their seventh
career double-double. Bonner grabbed a career best 15 rebounds while
contributing 16 points and Carrier nearly met her career best in scoring
with 22 points, while taking 10 boards.
The Tigers moved to 33rd in the latest RPI with a rating of .6136.
Auburn is shooting 46.1 percent from the field while holding its opponents
to just 35.9 percent. The Tigers are shooting an improved 37.3
percent from 3-point range, from one year ago. Auburn has outrebounded
eight of its opponents for a 10.7 rebounding margin, 14th
best in the NCAA.
Bonner leads are scorers and rebounders this season with 17.3 points
and 9.0 rebounds a game. She is followed on offense by Sherell Hobbs
with 12.5 points and on defense by Carrier with 6.7 rebounds a game.
Eight of Auburn's 11 active players are averaging at least 5.0 points a
game and seven have 3.0 rebounds or more a game this season.
Scouting George Washington
George Washington, 8-2 on the season, is ranked No. 20 in both the
AP and Coaches Poll, which marks its highest ranking since the 2001-02
season. The Colonials are coming off a come-from-behind victory over
Liberty, 74-66, on Dec. 10. The Colonials two losses have come from
defending national champion and top-ranked Maryland (48-73) and
No. 6/5 Tennessee (62-85).
The Colonials find themselves in the top five (.6967) in the latest RPI
rankings and are ranked seventh in strength of schedule. George
Washington is shooting 43.2 percent from the field, while hitting 37.8
percent of its three-pointers.
George Washington sophomore Jessica Adair leads the team with
15.5 points and 7.9 rebounds a game this season. George Washington
has three other players averaging in double digits - Sarah-Jo Lawrence
(14.6), Kimberly Beck (12.0) and Kenan Cole (11.2).
The Colonials welcomed back four starters and 11 letterwinners from
a 2005-06 team that advanced to the second round of the NCAA
Tournament and finished the season ranked 25th. The Colonials are one
of 16 Division I women's basketball programs to have made the NCAA
Tournament in at least 13 of the last 16 seasons (they have made four

Washington, owning a 394-145 ledger (462-165 overall). He is the
15th winningest coach both active and all-time, in terms of winning percentage
Against the Ranked
Auburn is 81-130 all-time versus ranked opponents (1-2 against opponents
ranked No. 20). In road contests the Tigers are 20-61. The last
time Auburn faced a ranked opponent was March 3, 2005, versus No.
3 Tennessee in the SEC Tournament. The last time Auburn defeated a
ranked opponents when it was not ranked was Jan. 26, 2003 - AU
defeated No. 8 Arkansas, 64-36.
The Tigers continue to Maryland-Eastern Shore on Dec. 19. Auburn
returns home on Dec. 21 to meet Oakland at 1 p.m..
