Auburn - The Auburn women's basketball team made history on Friday night after defeating Sam Houston State by a commanding score of 119-54.
The 119 points is the most points that have been scored in Auburn women's basketball history. The previous record was 116 points, dating back to the 1986 season.
Also making history in Auburn basketball was junior Whitney Boddie. Boddie became only the second player in Auburn basketball history, both men and women's, to record a triple-double. She logged 13 points, 12 assists and 10 rebounds.
Leading the Tigers in scoring during the game was junior KeKe Carrier, who posted 19 points, and senior DeWanna Bonner with 18 points.
The leading scorer for Sam Houston State was Mary Beth Renz, who scored 12 points on the night.
The Tigers will play next at Liberty on Sunday afternoon.
