Auburn women's basketball signs nation's 12th-ranked class

AUBURN, Ala. – Auburn women's basketball has signed its highest-ranked recruiting class in the Terri Williams-Flournoy era as four top prospects signed National Letters of Intent this week.

ESPN HoopGurlz ranks the Tigers' incoming class for 2018-19 as the 12th-best in the country. Two top-50 recruits join two other highly sought-after prospects in the best class of the Coach Flo era.

The Tigers will welcome No. 17 overall recruit Robyn Benton (5-9, G, Conyers, Ga./Greater Atlanta Christian), No. 41 overall prospect Brooke Moore (5-7, G, McDonough, Ga./Henry County HS), Erin Howard (6-1, G/F, Madison, Wis./Madison East) and Natalie Kelly (6-3, F, Albany, La./Albany HS).

“To say that we are excited about this signing class would be an understatement," Williams-Flournoy said. "To be able to sign a nationally ranked recruiting class that addresses specific needs while coming off back-to-back NCAA Tournament berths is a testament to our commitment and dedication to continue to build our program into one that is consistently 'excellent' on the court, in the classroom, and in the community."

Coach Flo on Robyn: "Robyn is the prototypical guard for our system. She has a complete offensive game and will thrive in our pressure-oriented defensive system. We are thrilled to add one of the best, most complete guards in the nation to our Auburn Women's Basketball family."

Erin Howard

Highlights: Ranked as the No. 21 forward nationally by ESPN HoopGurlz ... Prospects Nation rates her as the No. 142 overall recruit nationally ... First-team all-state as a junior ... All-conference selection each of her first three years of high school ... Averaged 15.5 points, 4.1 rebounds, 11.9 assists as a junior ... Her father played basketball at Wisconsin.

Why did you choose Auburn?: “Auburn was the best fit for me not just because of basketball but also academically. Many times when going through the recruiting process my parents always reminded me that there is life after basketball and one day it’ll come to an end. WIth that in the back of my mind I knew Auburn would provide me the academics and academic support I need to be successful in life, after basketball comes to an end."

Coach Flo on Erin: “Erin is an versatile, extremely skilled 'stretch 4' that gives us a combination of inside-outside scoring that we covet at that position. Her ability to handle the ball, distribute, shoot the '3' and rebound will help us immensely as we continue to improve our program."

Natalie Kelly

Highlights: Three-star prospect and the No. 38 post player in the 2018 class, according to ESPN HoopGurlz ... All-state, all-district, all-paris and all-metro selection as a junior; named district defensive MVP ... Helped team to state runner-up finish as a junior ... Set school record for single-season rebounds with 379.

Why did you choose Auburn?: “I chose Auburn because it was a heart decision. I fell in love with the beautiful campus and great people. The atmosphere was like no other, the pride people had to be an Auburn Tiger. The opportunity to play for Coach Flo was something I couldn't pass up."

Coach Flo on Natalie: “Natalie is a long, lanky athlete who has the potential to anchor our press defensively, while possessing the ability to consistently hit the midrange jump shot.  Her upside has no ceiling."

Brooke Moore

Position: Guard

Highlights: Rated a five-star prospect, the No. 42 overall prospect in the nation and the No. 11 guard by ESPN HoopGurlz ...
