Women's Basketball Announces 2010-11 TV Schedule

AUBURN - The Auburn women's basketball team will appear on television at least six times during the 2010-11 season as part of the Southeastern Conference Women's Basketball Television Package, the league announced Wednesday. The overall conference package includes 66 games with teams appearing on ESPN2, ESPNU, Fox Sports Net, CSS and the SEC Network. "It is always great to get that television exposure and we are really excited about what the fans will see out of Auburn basketball this season," said head coach Nell Fortner. "We have all of our starters coming back from last year's team and an exciting freshman class, so we are looking forward to getting the season started." The Auburn portion of the schedule includes three games on CSS, one on Fox Sports Net, one on ESPN2 and one on the SEC Network. Games broadcast on Fox Sports Net include Sun Sports, FSN Florida, FSN South and FSN Southwest. The entire SEC Tournament will also be broadcast with the first round and quarterfinals airing on Fox Sports Net. The semifinals will run on ESPNU while ESPN2 will carry the championship game. The Tigers will make their first appearance on Sunday, Jan. 2 with a 2 p.m. matchup at in-state rival Alabama on CSS in the SEC-opener for both teams. Auburn then appears on CSS at 2 p.m., Jan. 16 at home against LSU. The final CSS appearance will come at home on Jan. 23 in a 2 p.m. home game against defending SEC Champion Tennessee. The Tigers will then open a string of three-straight televised Sunday games to close out the regular season. Auburn and Arkansas will match up in a 4 p.m., Feb. 13 game on ESPN2 in Fayetteville, Ark., before the Tigers take on South Carolina on Fox Sports Net at 1 p.m., Feb. 20. Auburn will close out the regular season at home with a 1 p.m. game against Kentucky on Feb. 27 that will air on the SEC Network. Auburn is set to open its season at 5 p.m., Nov. 12 against Mercer in the new Auburn Arena. The game is part of a doubleheader with the Auburn men's team following at 7 p.m. against North Carolina-Asheville.
Season and tickets are still on sale with individual packages starting at $50 for reserved chairback seats. Single-game tickets are also on sale with reserved chairback seats for only $7.
