The 2006-07 Auburn women's basketball schedule has been released, announced head coach Nell Fortner announced on Monday.
The Tigers open up the season Nov. 10 at Western Carolina and will host their first home contest of the season vs. Alabama State on Wednesday, Nov. 15 at 6 p.m. CT. Auburn will then host Winston-Salem State in a double-header with the men Friday, Nov. 17 at 5:30 p.m.
Tournaments Auburn will compete in include the Virgin Islands Paradise Jam Nov. 23-25 vs. Marquette, Xavier and Western Michigan, the Nuggett Classic in Reno, Nev., Dec. 1-2, and the University of Miami Tournament, held Dec. 28-29 in Miami.
SEC action opens up Thursday, Jan. 4 vs. Ole Miss on The Plains at 6 p.m. Auburn then travels to in-state rival Alabama Jan. 7 for a 2 p.m. matchup. The Tigers' remaining home games include: Arkansas, Jan. 14; Kentucky Jan. 21; Alabama, Feb. 1; Tennessee, Feb. 8; Georgia, Feb. 18 and Florida, Feb. 22.
Auburn's road conference games include: at Florida, Jan. 18; at LSU, Jan. 28; at Mississippi State, Feb. 4; at Vanderbilt, Feb. 11; at South Carolina, Feb. 15 and wrap up the season at Ole Miss, Feb. 25.
The Tigers return three starters, from last year's squad, including sophomores Whitney Boddie, DeWanna Bonner and KeKe Carrier. Bonner helped lead Team USA to a gold medal in the FIBA Americas U20 Championship this summer.
Auburn will unofficially tip off the season Tuesday, Nov. 7 at 6 p.m. with an exhibition matchup with Tuskegee. Auburn's evening games, with the exception of televised contests, and the double-headers with the men's team, will begin at 6 p.m. CT. The SEC television schedule is set to be released at a later date.
