AUBURN, Ala. - Auburn's second season under head coach Terri Williams-Flournoy will open on Saturday, Nov. 9 in a 2 p.m. game against Georgia Southern at Auburn Arena, the head coach announced Tuesday. The game is one of 13 on the Tigers' non-conference schedule, a slate that includes games against eight teams that played in the postseason a year ago.

"Our non-conference schedule is tough," said Williams-Flournoy. "It is a little tougher than what we had anticipated, especially with so many newcomers. You want to have a competitive schedule and we have done that, especially with some of our away games."

The non-conference schedule features four games (UT-Chattanooga, Iowa State, St. John's, UCLA) against teams that advanced to the NCAA Tournament, three (Ball State, Tulane, Minnesota) that played in the Women's NIT and one (Presbyterian) that competed in the Women's Basketball Invitational.

"Scheduling is always hard and it's tough, nobody ever wants to play you, it seems," said Williams-Flournoy. "When you have a young team with two freshman point guards, you would like to be able to ease into things, but they are going to get thrown in the fire right away. It is competitive and will definitely help us get ready for the SEC."

The season will open with Georgia Southern on Nov. 9. The Tigers will stay at home for a Nov. 13 game against in-state rival Jacksonville State at Auburn Arena.

Auburn will then hit the road for five games, starting with a Nov. 16 game against Temple in Philadelphia, Pa. The Tigers will also travel to Alabama A&M (Nov. 19) and Tennessee-Chattanooga (Nov. 24) before heading to Las Vegas for the South Point Thanksgiving Shootout.

While in Las Vegas, Auburn will face Ball State (Nov. 29) and Iowa State (Nov. 30). Both games will be played at the South Point Arena.

AU will then return to The Plains for a four-game homestand, opening with Tulane at Auburn Arena on Dec. 3. The Tigers will also host St. John's (Dec. 6) in the SEC/Big East Challenge, Florida A&M (Dec. 15) and Presbyterian (Dec. 18).

The non-conference schedule will conclude with a round-robin tournament at Minnesota. Auburn will take on UCLA in the opening game on Dec. 21 before facing the host Golden Gophers on Dec. 22 at Williams Arena.
