Mexico City - Contributing nine points and five rebounds, Auburn sophomore DeWanna Bonner helped lead Team USA to a 90-39 victory over Canada Wednesday afternoon in the FIBA Americas U20 Championship for Women. The win puts the team at 2-0 in the round-robin tournament, which goes through Saturday.

Bonner shot 4-of-7 from the field and had three assists on the day. Team USA was led by Marscilla Packer, who contributed 18 points in 24 minutes of play. As a squad, Team USA shot 55.7 percent from the field on 39-of-70 shooting.

Team USA will take on host Mexico Thursday at 6 p.m. CT in the round-robin event. The top three teams, at the end of the tournament, will earn a bid to the 2007 FIBA U21 Women's World Championship. Play continues through Saturday, Aug. 12.
