Player her last two seasons at Gulf Coast State College... Averaged 7.4 points and 3.8 rebounds per game as a sophomore, leading Gulf Coast State to a 29-6 record and a fourth place finish at the NJCAA national tournament... As a freshman, she averaged 2.3 points per game while helping the team to a 24-5 record.
Played for Hunter-Kinard-Tyler High School... Was a four-time all-state, all-region, all-area and all-conference selection... As a senior she helped lead her team to a 24-1 record while averaging 33.6 points, 11.1 rebounds, 2.1 blocks, and 3.3 steals per game... Her 33.6 points per game had her ranked 19th in the country in scoring and fourth in the state of South Carolina... Named team MVP, Orangeburg Times and Democrat Player of the Year and MVP of the South Carolina North-South All-Star game... As a junior she averaged 24 points and 11 rebounds per game helping to lead her team to a 23-2 record... Named the Orangeburg Times and Democrat Player of the Year as a junior... As a sophomore she averaged 20.8 points, 8.8 rebounds, and 2.4 steals, leading her team to a 23-4 record.
Full name is Melinda Nicole Brimfield... Daughter to Shelia Brimfield... Has five siblings: Jaime, Alfreda, Lionel, William and Wendall... Brother William played football at Tennessee... Majoring in Psychology.
