AUBURN - Through five weeks of play into the 2011 WNBA season, Auburn's two former standouts continue to take great strides on the court.

DeWanna Bonner and the Phoenix Mercury picked up to big wins at home this week, defeating the Chicago Sky, 97-84, Friday and the Los Angeles Sparks, 101-82, on Tuesday. The Mercury improved to 6-4 on the season.

Bonner shot 50 percent from the floor in the win against Chicago and was also perfect from the free throw line. She added 11 points and three rebounds in almost 23 minutes off the bench. Tuesday night, Bonner went just 1-for-5 from the floor and 3-for-3 from the line, contributing five points and four rebounds.

Bonner is now averaging 8.4 ppg and 5.2 rpg in the 10 game appearances this season.

In Seattle, Le'coe Willingham helped the Storm pick up one win on a three game road trip over five days. Seattle dropped game one to Connecticut, 75-70, on Friday, defeated Washington, 73-63, Sunday and fell to Indiana, 78-61, Tuesday. The Storm fell to 5-4 on the year.

Willingham made her second, third and fourth starts of the season during the road trip. Over the three-game span, she went 11-for-25 from the floor with 24 points and 15 rebounds.

Willingham is now averaging 5.5 ppg and 3.4 rpg in all nine appearances this season.
