    DULUTH, Ga. - Former women's basketball standout Cicely "C.C." Hayden has been selected as Auburn's honoree for the 2010 class of SEC Greats and will be honored during the women's SEC Tournament March 4-7 at The Arena at Gwinnett Center.

    The class features former student-athletes from each of the 12 SEC institutions.

    During her three-year playing career at Auburn, Hayden tallied 1,306 points, ranking her 14th on Auburn's all-time scoring list. During the 1991-92 season, she led the team averaging 17.3 points per game.

    The Deland, Fla. native also logged 749 career rebounds, leading the team in the 1989-90 and 1990-91 seasons with 6.9 and 7.9 rebounds per game, respectively.

    Hayden's greatest accomplishment, however, could be her leading the team to the NCAA Tournament during her first two playing years. During the 1989-90 run, Hayden and the rest of the Auburn squad advanced to the NCAA Championship game for the third consecutive year. She also took the Tigers to the program's fifth consecutive Elite Eight appearance.

    In her three-year career, Hayden shot 52.6 percent from the field, 69.8 percent from the charity stripe, collected 104 steals and 78 blocks.

    Each honoree will be introduced during half-time of their teams first game of the tournament, all 12 individuals will also be introduced as a group between games of the second session on Friday, March 5. The Greats will then participate in an autograph session on the concourse before game eight.
