AUBURN - Auburn Athletics and Tigers Unlimited will host a post-game reception in the Scholarship Terrace of the Auburn Arena on March 3, immediately following the women's basketball game against Mississippi State to honor the inaugural members of WINGS. Other women who would like to learn more about WINGS are also invited to attend the reception.
WINGS, an acronym for Women Inspiring and Nurturing Greatness in Student-Athletes, began in 2009 to provide support for Women's Athletics. Since that time, more than 200 female student-athletes have participated in career-mentoring opportunities with WINGS members. WINGS has also assisted with funding in several areas in women's athletics, including providing training equipment for gymnastics, a video system for softball and assistance with the women's basketball trip to Australia.
The reception will honor 53 women who joined WINGS in 2009. The program also features remarks from head women's golf coach Kim Evans and women's basketball student-athlete Blanche Alverson.
To RSVP for the reception, please email email@example.com by Wednesday, Feb. 27.
The Auburn women's game against Mississippi State on March 3 will tip off at 2 p.m. Tickets are available with general admission tickets starting at $5. Fans can purchase at the ticket window at Auburn Arena or online at www.AUBTix.com.
