AUBURN - Former Auburn great Becky Jackson was announced Thursday as a member of the Southeastern Conference 2013 Class of Women's Legends. Jackson, a native of Franklin, La., played basketball at Auburn from 1980-84.

She is part of a class that includes Dominique Canty (Alabama, Basketball), Blair Savage-Lansden (Arkansas, Basketball), Sophia Witherspoon (Florida, Basketball), Kiesha Brown (Georgia, Basketball), Jenny Hansen (Kentucky, Gymnastics), Sandra Smith-Thompson (LSU, Gymnastics), Alexis Rack (Mississippi State, Basketball), Joni Davis (Missouri, Basketball), Lashinda Demus (South Carolina, Track & Field), Kyra Elzy (Tennessee, Basketball), Kelly Krauskopf (Texas A&M, Basketball) and Ashley McElhiney (Vanderbilt, Basketball).

A four-time All-SEC performer, Becky Jackson finished her career as Auburn's all-time leading scorer and rebounder with 2,068 points and 1,118 rebounds. The Kodak All-American scored 38 points in a game, matching the second-highest mark in school history. She was named an AIAW All-State performer as a freshman and was also named to the Alabama State All-Tournament Team. In 1981 and 1983, Jackson was named to the American Women's Sports Foundation All-American team and was named MVP of the SEC Tournament in 1981.

Her career totals are still among the best all-time at Auburn as she ranks second in career scoring, behind DeWanna Bonner, ranks ninth in career blocks and still holds the Auburn career rebounding record.

The class will be honored at the 2013 SEC Women's Basketball Tournament, March 6-10 in Duluth, Ga. Each legend will be honored during half-time of their teams first game of the tournament, all 14 individuals will also be honored as a group during the half-time of the first semifinal games on March 9. The Greats will then participate in an autograph session on the concourse between the two games. Complimentary posters of the Greats will be available at the session.

Jackson will also be recognized in Auburn on Feb. 17 at halftime of the Tigers' game against Alabama. Her jersey will be retired that afternoon with her joining the ranks of Ruthie Bolton, Carolyn Jones and Vickie Orr.
