Auburn Head Coach Nell Fortner
Opening Statement...
"I thought it was a really good win for us coming off of a ten-day break. We did an outstanding job on the boards, which is something that we had to do because Liberty is a great rebounding team. It was also great to get Morgan Toles back and to just get back into things."

On out-rebounding Liberty...
"Liberty has been out-rebounding their opponents by 15 so to out-rebound them by 11 was really good. We really focused hard on rebounding in practice the last few days and it paid off for us here tonight."

On the return of Morgan Toles...
"I thought she played really well down the stretch and did some nice things for us. She's still got to work on getting her game back, though. She made some mental errors out there getting herself trapped a few times. She hit some big shots for us though and did a nice job overall."

On the presence of KeKe Carrier...
"KeKe got the wind knocked out of her in the first half and it affected her breathing for the rest of the game. Because of that, I was not able to get as much out of her as I would have liked. I thought Chantel Hilliard stepped up in her absence and really had a nice game."

On the play of Jordan Greenleaf...
"Jordan was outstanding tonight. This is the best I've seen her play since she hurt her knee so it was good to see her get back on track. It was only a matter of time for her in getting her confidence and her game back. When you sit out a year it really effects your play, so it is coming around for her."

On the win being a total team effort...
"It is always nice to get everybody involved with everybody knocking shots down. We are capable of that with some really nice scorers on this team. We have just got to work the ball around to get our shots."

On the four-game winning streak...
"We are getting better. We have been a work-in-progress so far this year. These kids are finally learning how to play with each other. We are moving in the right direction and getting ourselves ready for conference play."

On the upcoming game versus South Alabama...
"It is going to be a tough atmosphere down there. That is an Alabama team that would love nothing more than to beat an SEC team. We are very aware of that and we have our work cut out for us. We will be prepared and focused to play that game on Sunday and see what we can do."

Auburn player quotes

Forward Jordan Greenleaf
On tonight's game...
"I think we came out really energetic, focused, very aggressive. We attacked them and I think the way we started off really shook them up and we kept them like that for the whole game. We had a couple of let-downs, but overall we stayed poised and composed."

On a career-high 17 points...
"I am just taking on the role that Coach Fortner has given me and focusing on it. I am not usually a primary scorer and being out for a year set me back a little bit. But, I am coming into my game and I am finding my game and it showed tonight."

Forward Chantel Hilliard
On tonight's game...
"It was a good team effort. Coming out in the second half, we knew what we had to do. We were 22-8 on the boards at halftime and we had to come out there with a lot of effort and a lot of intensity and energy and go after it to keep it up."

On a career-high 14 points...
"That's my team. They knew exactly what they had to do, and I knew what I had to do in order to get open."

On the importance of the bench scoring effort...
"The bench just has to know its role. When you come off the bench, Coach Fortner tells us every day in practice `You have to have energy, you have to have intensity, you have to be ready to rebound. If anything, play defense first, then offense second.' Just to go out there and play hard."

Liberty Head Coach Carey Green

On the disappointing loss...
"Hopefully we learned some lessons from this game. I may have to make some adjustments with which players you'll see the floor. Rebounding was the difference in the game. There were at least six second-chance points that we gave up in the second half due to just not boxing out. That fundamental cost us the game."

On both teams shooting free throws well...
"We thought, with the exception of three players, they don't usually shoot the ball very well from the free throw line. Tonight, however, they made them. Morgan Toles played a critical role in the game for Auburn. She was the deciding factor. Auburn is a very good team."

On their defensive pressure...
"We did some positive things tonight. I thought the defensive pressure made it an exciting game."

On the upcoming break...
"This 10-day break is the longest since I have been a basketball coach. I just want the players to stay in shape and not get too rusty."

Liberty Player Quotes

Devon Brown
Overall thoughts on the game...
"It was a hard fought game. We fought to the end. We had a rough first half, but we bounced back in the second half."

On playing an SEC opponent...
"It was good competition. They're a good squad and we're a good squad."

On second half adjustments...
"We just picked up our defense. That was our key. We just came out in the second half and did was we were supposed to."

Amber Mays
Overall thoughts on the game...
"We had a bad first half, but in the second half we played great. We fought hard and we did what we had to do."

On playing a SEC opponent...
"It was exciting, an adrenaline rush. They're in a much better conference than the Big South. It would have been a huge win for us, so it was exciting."

On second half adjustments...
"We knew we had to play hard. We weren't running plays and we weren't boxing out. We weren't attacking the basket like we usually do. So we jut did ordinary things and that's why we were better in the second half."
