Auburn Head Coach Nell Fortner
On today's game...
"It is always nice to win, obviously. I am so proud of the effort of the team. They really came out focused and hungry and determined to win for a lot of reasons. We have talked for the last few days about this being our last game in Beard-Eaves (Memorial Coliseum) and a lot of the former players were back. We had a great turnout with former players coming back. You are not just playing for yourselves and your team this year, but for the history of the Auburn Women's Basketball program. They really took that to heart and I am proud of them for that. We were representing a lot of people out on that floor tonight. I was proud of the effort and it is a really good win for us."

On whether or not she told the team not to get caught up in the emotions of the day...
"No, I almost wanted them to get wrapped up in it. We need things to give us great energy and this is a special one. This is not just playing a regular game. This is a history-making game. They might not appreciate it so much right now or understand the significance of it, but they are going to at one point in their lives when they get a little older and look back on it. They can say that they were on the team that won the last game played in Beard-Eaves. That is special. You do not always get those opportunities."

On Auburn's defense...
"We played really well. We played the majority in zone defense and it was very effective. It limited Kentucky's shot opportunities. They got a lot of their shots out of shot clocks winding down and things like that. We did a good job of slowing them down a little bit, if that is possible. They are a very fast team."

On the difference in today's game and the previous game and loss to Ole Miss...
"I do not know how to explain it. I do not know if the ball's not bouncing to us or if we were just more focused. We definitely worked on rebounding this week. Those things pay off for you a little bit."

On Alli Smalley's shooting stretch...
"I just wanted to sit back and have some popcorn and watch a little bit. Sometimes she is really fun to watch. When she starts feeling it like that, you just want to sit back and enjoy the show. She hit some big baskets that we had to have. They were cutting it to six or seven and she would knock down a three."

On KeKe Carrier...
"It has been a delight. She is a delightful young woman. The really interesting thing about KeKe is she has got so much more in her life than basketball. Everybody on campus knows who KeKe is. She is a star, a celebrity. To have to keep it all balanced with how many directions she gets pulled in a day, just walk around campus with her for two hours. It is not like she can walk around campus and go unnoticed. She has dealt with that so nicely over the years and it has been nice watching her transform her game probably more this year than in any year before. I am proud of her."

On expecting KeKe Carrier to have a big game...
"Yes, I did. It is just like the Georgia game was KeKe Bobble-head Day. I was wishing we could do Bobble-head Day again. Senior Day was good for her."

On wishing KeKe Carrier had another year...
"When you have that kind of size, you wish they could stay around forever. But I felt like we got some good contribution today off the bench. I felt like P.J. West was big off the bench. She has slowly been coming around in practice, and we have been playing her more in games. Today she really stepped up and her presence was really felt out there today."

Auburn Player Quotes
KeKe Carrier, Center
On scoring 1000 points...
"I wasn't focusing on that at all, I just wanted to be effective. This is my last game in the Coliseum at Auburn; I just wanted to play big. My focus was going hard and being the player I can be."

On winning her last game as a senior...
"It is huge because we have had some struggles this season. We played well tonight and our last couple games. I am proud of everybody, everyone made a contribution and I am proud of that."

On preparation for this game...
"This is my last game here and the only thing different was the people there with the alumni. I kept my mindset to just go out and dominate. It was a big game and I had to go all out."

On what she will remember most...
"I will remember us getting through adversity. We did a good job of picking ourselves up as a team. Through the years we have done a good job and we left a big legacy and I am proud of everybody."

On holding Victoria Dunlap to four points...
"I just tried to come out and dominate both defensively and offensively. That says a lot about everyone who played in the post, they did a good job on her."

On playing better against top competition...
"Our focus every game is to dominate regardless of the name on the jersey. This win will give us a lot of momentum to compete with the big teams we know we can beat. "

Alli Smalley, Guard
On embracing the history of this game...
"Coach Fortner was stressing the importance of this game all week. We were not just playing for ourselves tonight, we were also playing for everyone who had played here. "

On scoring 10 straight points...
"We got a little shaken up because of their pressure and we were making bad decisions because they were trapping us. I was just trying to hit some shots and get us back on track during that lull."

On putting the game on your shoulders...
"There was a lot at stake for this game with the alumni here. This was KeKe's last game here and our last game in this Coliseum. We were all fighting to go out with a win or go down fighting."

On the momentum shift at the end of the game...
"We made some bad decisions the previous possessions, and those shots changed the momentum. I think I got a little too excited after I made those though and I tried to go for another one."

On KeKe's impact on the team...
"Offensively, everyone's attention is on KeKe when she gets the ball and that opens up the outside shot and make some cuts around her. "

On going into the SEC tournament...
"I think it was huge for us today get the win and it gives us some momentum. There have been so many upsets in this league that any team can win on any night."

Kentucky Head Coach Matthew Mitchell
Opening statement...
"It was a fantastic performance by Auburn. You have to give them so much credit for coming out with so much energy and effort. They played extremely hard and had a great game plan. I really admire the way they came out and played today."

On Auburn's defense...
"They did a great job in their zone. They were active and really shut us down around the rim. I thought that their size and athleticism really bothered us today. The first time we played them this year, we got a lot done in transition. We were not able to get that done today. They are a real tough team around the rim to score against."

Kentucky Player Quotes
Victoria Dunlap, Forward
On today's game...
"I think for the first few minutes we came out with the right energy and the right intensity. After that, I think we just weren't playing like ourselves and our team, and we weren't that energetic and enthusiastic about the game. We let that get to us."

On the high-tempo second half...
"Our mentality at that time was just not in it. We were hustling to balls with them, but I think they definitely had the energy and intensity and they knew they were going to come out and play hard. We didn't follow with that same energy."

Amber Smith, Guard
On today's game...
"I thought we came out strong but we just laid down. Auburn came to play today and obviously, we didn't. They out-hustled us on a lot of balls and we just didn't play Kentucky basketball."
"We're on a two-game losing streak so we definitely don't want to make that three. We're going to get a lot of motivation from this game and we can't let teams out-play us. We're going to come back with a lot of energy and a lot of motivation for the SEC Tournament."
