Georgia head coach Andy Landers
On desired position Georgia wanted to be in at the end of the game...
"I thought we played, overall, very well defensively. We were very good in the half-court pretty much all night. We had some breakdowns in transition defense a couple of times, probably four or five times, which some of that is Auburn being really good at that. Some, or a couple of them, was us not making the effort to be really good. But, you know, we were good defensively.

"Offensively, we executed very well, particularly in the first half. [We] shot it very well. [I] just thought we missed some easy shots in the second half. You know, we missed three or four layups and didn't get fouled, which is probably why we missed them. We were trying to keep from getting fouled and score a layup rather than take the ball to the hole and their people to guard us and possibly get a three-point play out of it, but yeah, we were where we wanted to be."

On playing Auburn well throughout the year...
"You know, I don't know. I'm not sure. They're very, very quick. They're a lot quicker than we are. You know, they miss-match us when [DeWanna] Bonner is at the five and Angel [Robinson] is guarding her at 17 or 18 feet, but Angel does a good job with that really, for a 6'5" kid. We probably miss-match them when Angel's inside on the block, but they do a very good job at fighting that. The individual match-ups are not all that great, but the team match-ups are pretty good."

Auburn Player Quotes

DeWanna Bonner, F
On winning SEC Championship...
"It's very exciting, but of course we can't say that we are trying not to think about it because we have Arkansas coming here next week--who are playing really good on the road right now. We are very excited, I mean it is something we have worked for all year. It is our goal and you see how happy we were when we saw that Vanderbilt lost. No offense to Vanderbilt, but when we found out they lost, then emotions overwhelmed us."

More on winning a SEC title...
"We just got done talking about it in the locker room. When coach recruited us, she always said that's what we're going to do. Of course, when you're freshmen and you don't even get to the WNIT, we were like, 'Oh no, coach. We're not going to do this.' We were like, 'We (stink). What are you talking about?' There's Tennessee. There's LSU. But we just stayed with it. Everybody worked so hard this summer. Not just the seniors. Everybody worked so hard after we lost the first game of that NCAA tournament last year, and that was just our goal from day one. Since we got back, we had a meeting. And we only had like three days off and we wanted to get to it, and I think everybody came out ready to play this year."

On the Arkansas game coming up...
"It is very important. It is not just the SEC championship goal; it is trying to go undefeated on your home court. So it is a big game. Try to do that and run with the SEC Tournament. It is definitely a big game for us Sunday, so it is going to be great."

On the concern of not winning...
"We are a veteran team. That is the kind of games that we want, first of all. I didn't have any doubt. We just kept saying that we believed and to keep getting shots and we came up with big shots in the second half."

On the offensive struggles...
"I think in the first half we came out shooting a little off. We were putting up a lot of shots, but we just came out in the first half only shooting around 30 percent, so that's not good. There has just been great competition and great games. It comes easy like in the preseason. Everybody is good."

Allie Smalley, G
On the Georgia matchup...
"I guess because we are ranked so high and doing so well, everybody we play just brings all they have. They are motivated to give us their best shot. It is like that with everybody, not just Georgia. Everybody us giving their best."

On the final rebound of the game...
"It really just came off straight to me. I just went up and grabbed it. They were trying to foul, so I just dribbled it back out and went to the foul line."
