HEAD COACH Nell Fortner
"It was a good win for us. It was a complete effort by this team and it was nice to get that effort. We were trying to make the best things happen."
On Whitney Boddie... "The team is comfortable with her. She has been our starter all year. It felt good with her out there tonight."
On the hustle... "Sometimes you don't get any hustle with a young team. You have to teach them consistency on a daily basis and that is not an easy lesson. It's late for a lot of them to start that. You're asking a whole lot out of them in practice. You have to keep that fresh in their minds."
On the first half... "The surge that we had at the end of the half made a big difference in our confidence going into the half. To feel good about what you're doing is important."
On the second half... "We missed a lot of layups and free throws tonight. At the end of the game I was thinking, `Are we trying to give it away?' It was a game of runs. We built up the score to sustain some hits and we were fortunate."
On the offense... "We ran two things tonight and we ran them well. It was nice to see the kids play and to settle in and find a niche. We did that tonight. We simplified things overall. We were thinking about simplifying it before the game, but you have to wait to see what the game is like. Simplicity worked for us."
FRESHMAN GUARD Whitney Boddie
On emotions... "It felt good to be out there tonight. I sat out the last two games and watched the team. I had to handle things off of the court and did what had to be done."
On practicing... "Saturday was the first time for me to practice, but I have been working out with the trainers. Nothing simulates a game situation like a real game."
On time away...
"It is very different when you are not playing. You see everything from a different perspective. We have been in a slump and it felt good to make things happen today."
SENIOR GUARD Nitasha Brown
On win... "It feels good to win and to end the season strong."
On Whitney Boddie... "She has penetration at the point. She helped us stay ahead. She collapsed their defense. We have to have help from somewhere and it is often a guard that helps."
On pressure... "We worked on our pressure a lot in practice. We exposed their holes and attacked them as hard as we could."
On offense... "We had a real flow in the offense. We took advantage of the other team's weaknesses. Once you find a weakness, you have to stick to it and expose it. We worked on a lot of plays to counteract their defense, but we simplified it and ran the plays really well."
On end of season... "We have enough left for some upsets. Going to Tennessee and Georgia is a tough way to finish out the season. There have been a lot of upsets."
SENIOR CENTER Marita Payne
On the game... "This shows that any team can be beaten. If we played like this at the beginning of the season, we might have won more games."
On her family... "They came over for senior night. This is their second time here, they came my freshman year. They got into town last weekend and will be here for the SEC tournament. It is awesome that they came. I don't get to see them much and it is special to have them here."
On Whitney Boddie... "Her confidence is the key to the game."
On height... "You'd think that every team would be prepared for our height. We have been struggling with our execution this season, but we did well tonight. KeKe (Carrier) had good boards tonight and our guards did a good job finding us."
On end of season... "Our finish just depends on how assertive the team is. We get passive sometimes. We played the same two offenses tonight and it worked for us. Crowds pump us up and Tennessee will have a huge crowd. That always sparks us. All we have to do is stay confident."
HEAD COACH CAROLYN PECK
On the game... "We didn't do a good job of defending in the paint. Marita Payne got involved and Nitasha Brown got hot on Senior Night. We were hindered by Sarah Lowe turning her ankle early. When she went down, we needed three people to step up and we didn't have it. There was not a letdown of emotion. There was a lack of execution. The effort was there."
On Florida's turnovers... "We only had 13 turnovers but it seemed like a million. We were trying to force some stuff inside and turned the ball over. The turnovers all came at crucial times."
On Nitasha Brown's three-pointer with 12:10 left... "We cut the lead to six and got two stops and the momentum was in our direction. Then (Nitasha) Brown hit the three. She made a play. It kind of took the wind out of our sails."
On the upcoming game against Tennessee... "Tennessee has great size. With their injuries at point guard, they will try to score inside and be looking at their post game and Candace Parker. They are really strong rebounders."
