Tanner was ranked as high as seventh in the nation following her sophomore season in which she was named All-Region and All-Area for the second season in a row... Sat out her junior year because of injury... Came back from injury to lead Hoover to a 39-1 record and a state title... Comes from a basketball family as mother Teresa played at Roane State and the University of Montevallo, father Tracy played at Wallace Community College and University of Mobile, uncle Eddie played at Alabama State, uncle Wayne played at Montevallo, uncle Anthony played at Davidson, and cousin Marreese Speights played at Florida, winning back-to-back NCAA titles, played for the Philadelphia 76ers and currently plays for the Memphis Grizzlies.
