Tigers pound Old Dominion with second-half surge

Auburn coach Terri Williams-Flournoy had a message for her basketball team at halftime Monday night. She told them to attack. And attack they did. After senior Tyrese Tanner hit a last-second jumper to give the Tigers a 30-28 halftime lead, the Tigers swarmed all over Old Dominion on both ends of the floor in the second half and romped and stomped to an 82-59 victory in the second round of the WNIT.

Auburn's defensive heat wilts Furman in WNIT opener

When Furman threatened, Auburn's women's basketball team answered by turning up the defensive heat Thursday night. And, in the end, the Paladins couldn't handle it well enough for long enough. Auburn, up 32-28 at halftime, led by as many as 20 late in the game before cruising to a 78-64 victory in the first round of the WNIT. The Tigers (18-14) earned another home game. They will play Old Dominion (17-15), a 68-60 winner over Navy, at Auburn Arena on Monday at 6 p.m.
