Auburn, Ala. - The Auburn men's tennis team will open up its fall season Friday at the Middle Tennessee Classic in Murfreesboro, Tenn., at the Buck Bouldin Tennis Center.
Three Tigers, Terence Nugent, Hunter Mills and Stephen Nash will participate in the tournament. Nugent, a junior transfer from the University of Idaho will begin competition at 9:30 a.m. in the singles match against Sebastian Serrano of East Tennessee State. Mills, a sophomore from San Antonio, Texas and Nash, a sophomore from Gainesville, Ga, will both begin action at 10 a.m., also in singles matches. Mills will compete against Fredrik Aarum of Ole Miss while Nash will take on Benedikt Fischer of Memphis.
"I am excited to see the amount of improvement that these guys have made since last year," head coach Eric Shore said. "It is time for them to show us what they've got."
Doubles action for the Tigers will also begin Friday at 4:30 p.m. when Nugent and Nash team up to compete against Bruno Echer and Mpiloenhle Migogo of Indiana State.
The second round of competition will take place on Saturday, Sept. 23 and all championship matches will be held on Sunday, Sept. 24.
