AUBURN, Ala. – Junior Lukas Ollert will make his first appearance at the NCAA Championships, competing in the singles draw which gets underway Wednesday at the University of Georgia’s Dan Magill Tennis Complex.
No. 52-ranked Ollert will open play against North Carolina’s Ronnie Schneider at 10:30 a.m. CT. The junior was spectacular for the Tigers down the stretch to earn a bid into the singles draw. Ollert is 19-12 overall in singles this year and was 11-8 for the Tigers in dual matches with six ranked wins. In 15 matches at the No. 1 spot in the lineup, Ollert was 7-8 for the Tigers en route to earning All-SEC second team honors.
UNC’s Schneider is 34-8 overall during the 2013-14 season for the Tar Heels. The freshman is ranked 33rd in the latest ITA release and finished the dual match season with a 22-6 record, posting a 16-4 mark at the No. 2 spot in the lineup along with 13 wins over ranked opponents.
