AUBURN - Two Auburn men's tennis players - senior Andreas Mies and junior Daniel Cochrane - were named to the All-SEC Men's Tennis Team, the conference office announced Thursday.

Mies was named to the All-SEC First Team for the second-straight season while Cochrane earned a selection to the Second Team for his first career conference honor.

"I'm really happy for both of these guys being selected," Auburn head coach Eric Shore said. "It's nice to see Andy get rewarded for a solid senior season, being named First-Team All-SEC. He's been our top player all year. Dan continues to improve, and playing in this conference high in the lineup is difficult with the depth. Doubles speaks for itself, and his singles continues to get better, and he's getting rewarded for how well he's progressing."

Mies and Cochrane have teamed up throughout the 2012-13 season to form one of the nation's most formidable doubles teams. Currently ranked No. 6 nationally, the duo has climbed as high as No. 1 in the rankings and has been in the top-10 for the entirety of the dual match season. They own an overall record of 18-8, including an 11-7 mark in dual match play, with five wins over nationally-ranked opponents.

The Tiger tandem also made Auburn history in October when they became the first Auburn players to win the ITA All-American Championship in Tulsa, Okla., defeating a team from top-ranked Virginia in the final. Even more impressive was the fact that the All-American was the first tournament in which Mies and Cochrane had competed as a team.

In singles, Mies is ranked No. 26 in the latest ITA rankings. He completed the regular season with an 18-9 overall record, including a 13-7 mark in dual match play and a 7-5 record in SEC matches. He also earned six wins over nationally-ranked opponents. Cochrane is 10-13 overall in singles this year, 9-12 in dual match play, competing at the No. 2 spot.

The 22nd-ranked Tigers are awaiting their destination for the 2013 NCAA Men's Tennis Championships, which will be announced at 4 p.m. Tuesday, April 30, on NCAA.com. The first and second rounds of the championships will take place at 16 campus sites nationwide beginning May 9, and the team and individual championships run May 16-26 in Urbana, Ill.
