Auburn, Ala. -
The Auburn men's tennis team continues on the road this week as they travel to Tulsa, Okla., to take on the Golden Hurricanes at the Michael D. Case Tennis Center. The Tigers, 6-0, will play Tulsa, 4-2, on Saturday at 6:00 p.m. CT.
Auburn holds the advantage walking into the match with a 5-1 series record. Their one loss, 4-2, took place at Tulsa in 2003. The last time the two schools met, the Tigers conquered the Golden Hurricane, 4-3, on April 12, 2006, in Auburn. Successful on its home courts, Auburn went undefeated in doubles play and tiptoed by 3-3 in singles.
The undefeated Tigers have high hopes of continuing their winning steak this Saturday. Senior Robbert Lathouwers, who has played in both the No.1 and No.2 spots this season, goes into singles play with a 6-0 record. In addition, sophomore's Pawel Dilaj and Alexey Tsyrenov's play remains impressive, as both own a 6-0 record in singles action.
Not getting the chance to play doubles in Auburn's last match against Alabama-Birmingham due to rain, Lathouwers and sophomore Lukas Marsoun seek another win on the court to further their 5-0 record.
The No. 40 Auburn men's tennis team is coming off a 6-0 triumph against the UAB Blazers. The University of Tulsa's last match was played at home, where they defeated Arkansas, 6-1.
