AUBURN - The No. 39 Auburn men's tennis team (3-1) returns to action Thursday with a non-conference matchup at No. 41 Georgia Tech (5-0).

The match is the second for Auburn this season against a ranked team as the Tigers are coming off a heartbreaking 4-3 loss to No. 37 Arizona State.

"It is another tough non-conference match for us against Georgia Tech," said head coach Eric Shore. "Every time we play them it is very competitive and I don't expect anything different this time. They will be ready to play and hopefully we will too."

The Yellow Jackets hold a 20-12 lead in the all-time series against Auburn, but Shore has seen success against the Atlantic Coast Conference member as he has a 6-4 record against Tech. Auburn has won three of the last four meetings in the series.

Even with the team taking their first loss of the season last weekend against ASU, shore says it could benefit the team having been in that situation.

"I think it is a good thing that we got in a tough match on Sunday," said Shore. "I feel good about our position, but we will have to see where we are in the next two week before conference starts. We have a tough run of matches here and it will be interesting to see how we do and how the team handles it."

Action in the match is set to begin at 2 p.m. ET at the Bill Moore Tennis Center. Live stats will be available at
