AUBURN, Ala. – No. 28 Auburn takes on in-state foe UAB on Tuesday at 2 p.m. at the City of Auburn/Auburn University Yarbrough Tennis Center as the Tigers conclude a three-match homestand.
Auburn (6-1) swept a doubleheader last Saturday at home, defeating Alabama A&M, 7-0, before taking down Davidson, 5-2. The Tigers took the doubles point in both matches and played strong in singles play to earn a pair of wins.
UAB (1-1) enters Tuesday’s tilt coming off a 7-0 victory over North Alabama on Sunday. The Blazers dropped their first match of the season on the road at No. 33 Alabama on Jan. 18.
Auburn’s match against the Blazers marks the fourth of the season against an in-state opponent. The Tigers are 3-0 against teams from the state of Alabama in dual match play in 2014.
Freshman Dante Saleh brings a nine-match winning streak in singles into Tuesday’s match. The Newport Beach, Calif., native is ranked 89th in the ITA singles rankings.
The Tigers match against UAB will be Auburn’s first of two matches of the week. On Friday, Auburn heads to Ft. Myers, Fla., to take on Florida-Gulf Coast.
