LAS VEGAS, Nev. – Daniel Cochrane and Dante Saleh picked up wins in their respective flights to earn singles titles on Sunday, while the doubles duo of Lukas Ollert and Dennis Lengsfeld teamed together to take the doubles championship at the Larry Easley Memorial hosted by UNLV.

Auburn’s four players combined to win 15 matches in their final action of the fall along with three titles.

En route to the tournament championship in flight one, Cochrane fell behind for the second straight match, losing the first set before rallying to knock off Oregon’s Kevin Fanin 5-7, 6-3, 6-3. The senior overcame an early deficit on Saturday to knock off Robin Cambier of Oregon, 2-6, 6-1, 6-2, to advance to Sunday’s final round.

“Dan has worked hard in all areas of his game and really stepped up this weekend. I was glad to see him raise his level of play after he and (assistant coach) Martin (Stiegwardt) spent time working on some things to improve his play,” Auburn coach Eric Shore said.

Saleh made quick work of UNLV’s Willie Sublette, 6-1, 6-2, to take to the title in flight two. The freshman did not drop a set during the three-day tournament en route to his first title in his Auburn career. The Newport Beach, Calif. Native finished 4-0 at the tournament to wrap up his first fall competition with the Tigers.

“We wanted to Dante to step up and play through some tough matches,” Shore said following the newcomer’s win on Sunday. “He has a good fall and we feel good about how he can step up for us in the spring.”

Auburn’s pair of Ollert/Lengsfeld gave the Tigers their first championship of the day with a hard-fought win over Oregon’s Kevin Fanin and Robin Cambier. The tandem posted an 8-7(3) win in a tiebreaker to claim the doubles’ crown.

“It was a solid weekend for both of them. With what they’ve done this weekend, we feel really confident that we have one of our three teams solidified for the spring season,” Shore said.

The Tigers now turn to prepping for the 2014 season and SEC play. Auburn opens up its spring schedule on Jan. 18, 2014 against in-state foe Jacksonville State and Mercer at the Yarbrough Tennis Center.
