    Men's Tennis Conclude Competition At D'Novo/ITA All-American Championships

    AUBURN, Ala. - Junior Tim Puetz and sophomore Alex Stamchev concluded play Saturday at the D'Novo/ITA All-American Championships at the Michael D. Case Tennis Center in Tulsa, Okla.

    The duo advanced to the quarterfinals of the doubles main draw and faced Wisconsin's Moritz Baumann and Marek Michallcka. Puetz and Stamchev fell to the third-seeded team, 8-5.

    Overall, the pair picked up two wins in competition during the week-long tournament. Stamchev and Puetz also took part in singles draw, both finishing 3-2 on the week.

    "It was a good start for the both of them and was a good tournament overall," Eric Shore, head men's tennis coach, said. "Alex Stamchev had a very good week and continues to play better and better. Getting the opportunity to play with Tim Puetz in doubles really helped him gain experience as well.

    The Tigers return to the court Oct. 22-25 for the ITA Regional Tournament in New Orleans, La.
