Men's Golf Ranked 20th In Latest Coaches' Poll

The Auburn men's golf team is ranked No. 20 in the latest Golf World/Nike Golf Coaches' Poll which was released on Wednesday.

Auburn has played in two tournaments this season, finishing sixth at the Carpet Capital Collegiate in Dalton, Ga., Sept. 6-9, and then finishing runner-up at the Wolf Run Intercollegiate last weekend in Zionsville, Ind.

Jake Mondy has been Auburn's top finisher in each tournament, tying for fifth at minus-2 at the Carpet Capital Collegiate and then taking fifth after finishing plus-3 at the Wolf Run Intercollegiate. Through six rounds, Mondy has a 71.67 stroke average and has shot three sub-par rounds, including two in the 60s.

Matt Gilchrest (72.67 stroke average) has a pair of top-20 finishes, including a tie for ninth at Wolf Run, and all six of his rounds have counted this season. Daniel Stringfellow, who finished tied for 16th at Wolf Run and has a 74.00 stroke average, has also had all six of his rounds counted.

Auburn's next tournament will be held in Birmingham when it plays in the Jerry Pate Invitational at Old Overton Golf Club Oct. 7-8.
