Michael Hebert Advances to Match Play at U.S. Amateur

CHERRY HILLS VILLAGES, Colo. – Auburn senior Michael Hebert advanced to the match play portion of the U.S. Amateur Championship on Tuesday after finishing tied for 19th at 1-under at the Cherry Hills Country Club in Cherry Hills Village, Colo.

Hebert began the round with six pars before carding his first birdie of the day on the par-5 No. 7. After a par on No. 8, Hebert closed out the front-9 with a birdie.

The Orlando, Fla., native moved to 3-under after a birdie on No. 12, but bogeyed on Nos. 15 and 16 to finish the round at 1-under.

Junior Dan Stringfellow shot a 4-over 74 on Tuesday and finished tied for 199th at 10-over.
