DEAL, England -- Auburn rising senior Niclas Carlsson tied for 10th at even-par in stroke play to advance to the match play portion of the 118th British Amateur held at the Royal Cinque Ports and Prince Golf Club.
Carlsson, who shot a 1-over on Monday, began the second round with a bogey on No. 1, but birdied the par-3 No. 3 to make the turn at even-par. On the back nine, the Enebyberg, Sweden native carded back-to-back birdies on Nos. 11 and 12, but bogeyed No. 14 to finish at 1-under.
Carlsson will square off against Finland’s Toni Hakula in the first round of match play Wednesday 12:05 p.m. local time. Live scoring for the British Amateur can be found online at www.championships.randa.org.
