May 9, 2014

Blake Soni, a senior from Sarasota, Fla., was named to the 2014 Southeastern Conference 2014 Men's Golf Community Service Team, the league announced on Friday.

Over the years Soni has volunteered at the Richland Road Elementary School after school program and read at the Auburn Early Education Center. He has participated in the Auburn Downtown Trick or Treat and donated to the Can Food Drive and Toys for Tots. As the SAAC representative for the men's golf team, he has also assisted in planning Student-Athlete Day, the Can Food Drive and Toys for Tots. He has also volunteered at the Jason Dufner Foundation Golf Tournament.

The SEC names a Community Service Team for each of its 21 league-sponsored sports, looking to highlight an athlete from each school who gives back to his or her community through superior service efforts.

Auburn is one of the host sites for this year's NCAA Men's Golf Regionals. Play takes place Thursday, May 15 through Saturday, May 17 at the Auburn University Club.
