Former Auburn Golfer Blayne Barber Wins NGA Tour Event

AUBURN – Former Auburn All-American golfer Blayne Barber won the 2013 NGA Tour Savannah Lakes Village Challenge on Sunday after the event was shortened to 54-holes at the Monticello Course in McCormick, S.C. Barber (70--217) defeated by Matt Hendrix by two strokes.

After a birdie on No. 5, Barber bogeyed No. 8 before a birdie on the par-5 No. 9 to make the turn at 1-under. The Lake City, Fla., native bogeyed No. 11, but rebounded with back-to-back birdies on 16 and 17 to finish at 2-under in the third round.

Former Auburn golfer Andrew Medley finished tied to seventh at 1-under while former Auburn SEC Champion golfer Patton Kizzire tied for 13th at even par.
