AUBURN, Ala. – Three Auburn golfers received All-SEC honors as senior Michael Johnson was named to the first-team, Jacob Solomon earned all-freshman honors and senior Jake Mondy for community service.

Johnson has had a remarkable season being a Ben Hogan Award semifinalist, on the Haskins Award Watch List and was selected to the United States team for the Arnold Palmer Cup in the annual Ryder Cup-style competition vs. Europe June 24-26 at Formby Golf Club in Formby, England.

Johnson, who is currently ranked eighth in the country in the Golfstat Cup, has won a school record three tournaments this season as he currently holds the lowest stroke average in school history at 70.06.

His three victories in the Primland Collegiate, Mobile Sports Authority Intercollegiate and the Schenkel Invitational are the most in a season in school history and his five career wins are second only to Jimmy Green’s six. His stroke average ranks second in the SEC and seventh nationally.

The Birmingham, Ala., native was a second-team All-SEC selection last year and a Freshman All-SEC pick.

Solomon has a 71.85 stroke average and has counted all 17 rounds played in earning Freshman All-SEC honors. The Dublin, Calif., native had four top-13 finishes, tying for 10th at the Carpet Capital, 11th at the Jerry Pate National, 12th at the Primland and 13th at the Seminole. Solomon tied for 18th at the SEC Championship.

Mondy, who has a 72.33 stroke average, finished third in the Mobile Sports Authority and has counted 17-of-18 rounds, was named to the SEC Community Service team. The Blacksburg, Va., native was the SAAC representative, assisted in planning the SAAC Student-Athlete Day, Beat Bama Food Drive, Toys for Tots and reads at the Auburn Early Education Center and volunteered at Storybrook Farm.

Auburn will earn its seventh consecutive NCAA Regional appearance on the Golf Channel’s selection show live at 8:30 am CT on Thursday. It will be the Tigers’ 25th appearance in the last 27 years.
