Patton Kizzire Named SEC Golfer Of The Week

AUBURN - Auburn junior Patton Kizzire was named SEC Golfer of the Week after claiming the SEC individual championship last weekend in Sea Island, Ga., the league office announced Thursday.

The Tuscaloosa, Ala., native fired a 72-69-70--211 to become Auburn's fourth SEC Champion. He led the Tigers to a third place team finish.

Kizzire is the second Auburn golfer to be honored by the SEC this year. Sophomore Glenn Northcutt was named SEC Golfer of the Week March 8 after leading the Tigers to a victory at the Seminole Intercollegiate.

Kizzire has a 72.97 stroke average and leads the team with 11 sub-par rounds. He was also named Golfweek Player of the Week.

Bids for the NCAA East, Central and West Regionals will be announced May 7.
